It sounds a little bit like those notetaking applications. I used to have an application on my desktop called <a href="http://zim-wiki.org" rel="nofollow">Zim</a>, which was made for these kind of things. You might want to look at it. Tomboy is another alternative. Tomboy is actually packaged with the default Ubuntu installation.
